Ms. Baylie Freeman of Camp Cypress Dog Retreat visited our PIVOT class to answer questions about careers in animal care services. She discussed the responsibilities of a kennel assistant and the many things to consider when exploring a job working with animals. The students asked great questions and learned important details about this very special occupation.

The Commission for Women of Bossier City is seeking applications from high school senior girls for its 2026-27 mentoring program. Mentees will participate in monthly sessions that empower young women and instill leadership skills. Due to the severity of the weather and employee safety, today's summer meal box distribution is being pushed back an hour. Meals will be available for pickup at all four sites from 8 a.m. to noon. We appreciate your understanding.

If you will be picking up meals today as part of the curbside summer feeding program, please be aware the delivery trucks are running late and pickups will be delayed until approximately 8 a.m. This affects all sites, with the exception of Parkway, which will open at the normal time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

🍎 Charles Adams retires after 23 years of service in education, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, encouragement, and care for every student who walked through his classroom doors.
📚 Kathye Blackburn retires after an extraordinary 53 years in education — a truly inspiring milestone that reflects a lifetime devoted to teaching, mentoring, and shaping young minds.
Together, they have given decades of wisdom, compassion, and leadership to education, and their influence will continue far beyond the classroom.
