Just a reminder BPSTIL students!
Last Friday, Benton Fire District #4 came to BPSTIL to help our Fire students with some hazardous materials operations skills. One of our former students works full-time for Benton and was our instructor today.
Students are gaining hands-on experience by disassembling and assembling vehicles to repair minor collisions on a variety of vehicles. Their work includes stripping the paint, body filler and rust from a Ford F100, replacing bumpers and headlights on a Honda Odyssey and VW Jetta. Prepping, priming, and painting a Polaris four-wheeler, mustang front bumper, and a frontier rear bumper. Additionally, they are mastering finishing techniques learning how to buff and polish paint on a Mustang and a Silverado.
BPSTIL Barbering I has officially completed almost their first 9 weeks of class! Our students are now Certified in Infection Control, an important accomplishment as they continue their journey in the barbering profession.
We are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment. This is a college-level course, and it is not easy—but our 9th–12th grade students are working hard and doing an amazing job!

Our CNA students used the Anatomage Table to explore the GI system and bring anatomy to life! 🫀 Learning is always better when you can see it in action!

Our customer service students practiced processing purchases, using the cash registers, serving customers, and - of course - counting change!

The competition was delicious, but there can only be ONE Dip Champion! 😋
Last year’s winner, Aimee Greene, officially passed the coveted trophy 🏆 to this year’s champion, Jo Schneider, whose Crawfish Dip took the top prize! 🦞🔥
And with LSU vs. Ole Miss coming up, you know there was a little friendly football trash talk mixed in with the dip competition! 💜💛🏈❤️💙 Some rivalries are just too good to leave on the field!

Mrs. Noel's Digital Storytelling students just wrapped up their Digital Literacy Unit in the most thrilling way possible: a live mock court case!
Students took the stand as expert witnesses, using their sharp tech skills to analyze digital evidence and completely dismantle the suspect's alibi. From tracking digital footprints to verifying timestamps, they proved that data tells a story that can't be hidden.

Ms. Baylie Freeman of Camp Cypress Dog Retreat visited our PIVOT class to answer questions about careers in animal care services. She discussed the responsibilities of a kennel assistant and the many things to consider when exploring a job working with animals.
