The AYES program allows the students to work in an automobile dealership in the summer between their junior and senior years in school. The students will be able to work their senior year at the same dealership and then complete two years after graduation.
The purpose of the automotive technology program is to provide specialized classroom instruction and practical shop experience to prepare individuals for employment as entry-level automotive technicians. The program prepares the individual to select and safely use hand and power tools, jacks and hoisting equipment. The content includes instruction in Maintenance and Light Repair, which includes ASE service areas: Engine Repair; Automatic Transmission/Transaxle; Manual Drive Train and Axles; Suspension and Steering; Brakes; Electrical/Electronic Systems; Heating and Air Conditioning; and Engine Performance.
